| FIDESCO in New York City
Besides sending missionaries to third world countries, FIDESCO started missions in poor neighborhoods of developed countries. The first of such missions started in Paris' Bondy neighborhood in 1999 trying to provide a response to the education crisis in French working-class areas.
New York City was the next city to welcome such missions with the arrival in 2005 of four young missionaries (two from The Netherlands and two from France) to begin their missions in the Bronx.
They are here for two years and are currently working with:
- The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in their Youth Center
