NYC, July, 2006 - More than 50 missionaries came from all over the United States and Europe to Saint Malachy's Church in Times Square for a 5-day mission with the Emmanuel Community. From Wednesday July 12th to Sunday July 16th street evangelization and adoration were organized at the Church. Each evening a special program of prayer, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and testimonies transformed Times Square into a haven of mercy and peace.

Everyday, friends, parishioners and passersby were invited to come into the church to pray, lay their intentions before the Blessed Sacrament, go to confession or participate in the evening programs of testimonies and prayer.

Missionaries spent their time on street corners playing music, singing songs or simply talking with those who stopped to listen. A group of young missionaries went to Central Park to play skits and sing songs to the crowds.

Father Richard Baker, the Rector of Saint Malachy, graciously opened the doors of his church to the missionaries and to New York. See below for more...
