Paray-le-Monial has become a pilgrimage site for the devotion to the Sacred Heart welcoming over 300,000 pilgrims every year. Since 1985, the shrine has been entrusted by the local bishop of Autun to priests and laity from the Emmanuel Community.
Every year since 1975, the Emmanuel Community organizes summer sessions in Paray-le-Monial including sessions for families, priests, artists, young adults and an international youth forum. Today around 20,000 people participate in the sessions.
